Jewitt, who first coached the Cherrypickers in 1997, believes this year's squad is the best he's ever seen.
But he understands a good side on paper doesn't automatically achieve victories.
He's putting the focus on performing consistently week-in-week-out and getting the best out of each individual player, beginning on Saturday against Kangaroos in the Group Nine season opener.
"If we can do that, I think the result will take care of itself," Jewitt said.
"In all my coaching I've rarely spoken about results, I like to focus on performance.
"I want to go to Wagga and put in a good performance and hopefully get the points. But we're focused on the performance and the players playing to the best of their ability."
It's been a massive pre-season for the Pickers who returned to the training paddock in the first week of November last year.
Jewitt admitted it had been a long preparation but he said he's pleased with how the side is shaping up for round one of the new season.
He identified Young's middle as a key area in 2019 with the likes of front-rowers Saul Lealaitafea, Kyle Richens, Aaron Slater, Warren Aiken, dummy-half Sam Langford and lock Blake Hewitt set to lay the platform.
"They're some of our big boys and they'll set the standard," he said.
"We also want to play exciting football. We've worked on the forwards passing before and through the line of defence."
