Experience some of the best harness racing next Sunday, August 4, at the Riverina Paceway.
The Alabar Breeders Challenge regional finals are run each year between Wagga, Bathurst and Newcastle with each final offering $50,000 in prizemoney.
Gates open at 10am with the first race of the 10-race program at 11.20am and the last race at 4.57pm.
Entry is free and with plenty of entertainment it's a race meeting not to be missed.
A match race over 200 metres between a pacer and Coolamon footballer Godfrey Okereneyang will give the crowd a different experience.
"He won the AFL grand final sprint last year," Wagga Harness Racing Club chief executive Graeme White said.
"He is lightning fast and a national champion."
Kids entertainment includes a giant slide, face painting, jumping castle, Play On Wheels, pony rides.
DJ Leighton Marshall will be keeping the crowd entertained with music while local dancers will also perform between races.
Future veterinarians will also be enjoying the meeting with the class of 2022 celebrating their Halfway Festival.
"Wagga has already hosted two feature meetings since Riverina Paceway opened in March and this will be the third major event on a Sunday," Mr White said.
"Some of these young horses will push the track record and are sure to be stars of the future."
