Coolamon will chase a fifth straight win when they host Griffith at Kindra Park on Saturday.
The game shapes as a defining encounter for both teams, who are only separated on the ladder by percentage, as they look to keep their minor premiership hopes alive.
McGowan believes the Hoppers can continue their winning streak with victory against the Swans.
"At home, I'd like to say we'll get up. I'm pretty confident," McGowan said.
"They've got a good side obviously and they've been up for a while now but at home, we're starting to gel as a side, hitting some form, I'd like to think we can beat them."
McGowan has been an integral part of Coolamon's climb up the Riverina League ladder this season.
While the inclusion of the likes of Jake Barrett and Jeremiah Maslin have played a big part, so too has the improvement of players like McGowan.
The 20-year-old has been happy enough with his form since returning to Coolamon's forward line.
"Yeah, on and off. I have my weeks," he said.
"It has been good to hit a little bit of form I suppose. Back down forward, kicking a few goals helps."
McGowan started the year in defence but has kicked 21 goals in the past eight games since being moved to full-forward.
He believes the delivery from Coolamon's midfield has played a big part in his form.
"I've always been a forward but we changed it up a bit. Coming into the start of the year we had a couple of big forwards so they tried me down back but it didn't work," he said.
"I'm not saying the delivery was bad (in the past) but the amount of class midfielders we've got, they aren't getting buggered towards the end of games and you're getting good delivery all game instead of just a couple of quarters."
McGowan said the football club is a good place to be around at the moment.
"It's very good. It's really exciting at the moment," he said.
"With all the young fellas we have, we're starting to gel as a side. We've always had a young side but we're starting to click at the moment, which is good."
With five rounds remaining, Coolamon sit in third but only percentage separates the top three teams.
McGowan believes the Hoppers are capable of going all of the way.
"I'd like to say we can go all of the way. That's what you play footy for," he said.
"We know our best can match it with anyone and if we can perform at our best then we'll be up there in the hunt."
