Miller was this week announced as one of four signings by the Tigers for their inaugural AFLW season early next year.
The former Mater Dei Catholic College student has spent the season playing with Richmond's VFLW team and impressed enough to win a spot on the Tigers' first AFLW list.
"I'm stoked for the opportunity and I'm dead set living the dream," Miller said.
After enjoying a few girls footy gala days during school, it was not until watching an AFLW game at Drummoyne Oval early last year that Miller caught the bug.
"I saw the girls on the field and thought they look really fit, really strong and thought, I want to look like that," she said.
"I also remembered my time at the high school gala days and loving it so I found my local club, which was Western Wolves at the time.
"I played a season last year with Western Wolves and had an absolute ball. We weren't the most successful on-field team but had a great time off it and I guess that's where I learnt my foundations."
At the end of last season, Miller was invited to trial with Greater Western Sydney (GWS) Giants but injured her ankle beforehand and was forced to attend on crutches and in a moonboot.
"Which was obviously not ideal," Miller explained.
"I did my rehab, put in for the draft for the Giants, because as a women's player you can only put the state. The Giants didn't pick me for whatever reason, and that's fine, but my coach also had a contact down here in Richmond.
"I was a training partner with the Giants over summer and while that was happening I was annoying Richmond and the recruiter, trying to get a trial down here because Melbourne is the mecca of footy."
It worked as Richmond invited Miller down to two training sessions as a trial for the VFLW team in February.

"It was nerve-wracking and exciting all at the same time," she said.
"I went back to Sydney, had a nervous one-week wait. Their recruiter emailed me and said they would love to offer me a spot, which was just amazing and I was over the moon."
Miller, the daughter of Greg and Jenny, has spent the season in defence for Richmond's VFLW team and impressed enough to be offered a one-year contract for the Tigers' inaugural AFLW season.
Miller is determined not to stop here.
"I'm just over the moon, really happy and stuff but I know that's not my dream, my dream is to play AFLW so it's a step in the right direction," she said.
