Beyond Bank Wagga presents Absolutely Fabulous - A Wagga School Of Arts production.
Wagga School of Arts, in their 160th anniversary year, is celebrating with each production in their 2019 season and Absolutely Fabulous strongly reflects this celebration.
Directed by Anna Swift, a cast of experienced actors brings to the stage the story of Patsy and Eddy, their family and friends who make this comedy of madness scream to life constantly lubricated with endless bottles of Bollinger Champagne.
Both Patsy and Eddy are striving to hold on to their youth and will go to any lengths to keep the ugly word "age" out of their life and conversation.
Jo Darby in the role of Patsy and Elizabeth Woods in the role of Eddy bring these two flawed females to the stage managing to layer their characters with a sense of vulnerability.
They are surrounded by an equally talented supporting cast with Eddy's level-headed daughter Saffy played by Rachel Rienits, Eddy's kleptomaniac mother, played by Lynden Clark, and the totally vague and witless assistant Bubble played by Georgi Lamond.
The play also reveals parts of Eddy's past in the form of former husbands, their partners and Patsy's sister Jacks, played by Bec Huxtable. Other members of the cast include Josh Steadman, Patrick Kenny, Shaun Perry, Barbara Landrigan, Antonella Salvestro, Damian Triulcio and Silas Darby. The characters from Eddy's past, offer some revealing and interesting stories of her life that has been interspaced with vices, dalliances with men, and many embarrassing moments.
The world of high fashion serves as the perfect backdrop for the show. Everything about Absolutely Fabulous is risky, yet the cast deliver a side-splitting and spectacular comedy that offers total entertainment. This adaptation of Absolutely Fabulous was written by Faeron Wheeler.
