The Wagga side made it 10 straight wins following their loss to Wagga City to start the season with a 48-31 win at Conolly Rugby Complex.
Fielding an almost unrecognisable side from the one who downed Ag College last week, the premiers set up the victory with a strong first half performance.
Blake Hart scored a treble to see them head out to a 29-12 lead, and they pushed the scoreline out to 43-17 before a few consolation efforts from the Phantoms.
Only seven starters from last week lined up, with a combination of injuries and a wedding wreaking havoc on the side.
However co-coach Michael Davis was impressed with those that stepped up.
"The first half we laid that platform and the forwards were outstanding," Davis said.
"Half of the guys were new in the pack, they have played minutes this year, but to stand up like that really laid the platform.
"With the scoreboard we're happy with the 48, the 31 isn't great, but that was probably cohesion and working together."
While there wasn't too much to write home about in the second stanza the win sets up a big clash against Griffith at Exies Oval on Saturday.
The Blacks gave Waratahs a big scare earlier in the season and are on the end of a five-game winning streak.
They chalked up another win on the road with a come-from-behind result against Albury at Murrayfield.
The Blacks scored two late tries to take a 31-24 win to maintain third place on the Southern Inland ladder.
Davis expects a big test.
"We're under no illusions that next week is going to be tough out there," he said.
"You have to win those big games if you want to progress and be contenders at the end of the year."
He also didn't rule out sticking with players who turned up for the club on Saturday.
"Some of them have probably played themselves into a more regular position but we will wait and see," Davis said.
Albury led for most of the clash but couldn't hold on for what would have been a valuable win in the run into finals.
They remain in sixth place, seven points behind the third-placed Blacks and five behind Wagga City, who moved back into fourth, but tackle winless CSU on Saturday.
