The Albury four-year-old stamped himself as one of Southern District's most promising gallopers with an eye-catching win for trainer John Whitelaw and jockey Scott McCullum.
The Doctor's Son ($4.40) came from last at the home turn to take out the Cann's Bus Lines Class Two Handicap (1000m) by one length.
Whitelaw had his eye on a Class Two Highway Handicap at Randwick later in the month but Tuesday's win rules him ineligible.
The Doctor's Son will now head to a Benchmark 78 Handicap over 1200m at Flemington on July 20.
"He's done his dash for the class two Highway," Whitelaw said.
"He'll go to Flemington instead now. A nice, big open track should suit him."
McCullum, who steered The Doctor's Son to his maiden win, was taken aback by the performance at Corowa.
"I couldn't believe the turn of foot he had with the big weight on a wet track. It was a very impressive win," McCullum said.
"I just needed the gaps to open, they did and he put them away pretty quickly."
It took The Doctor's Son record to three wins and a second from six starts.
Meantime, a top ride from Wagga apprentice jockey Josh Richards helped Squidensquizz ($2.50) win the Campbells Wines SDRA Winter Handicap (1600m) for Albury trainer Ron Stubbs.
He held off Gagosian ($5.50) by a half length, with Trevor Sutherland's My Maher ($12.00) running home strongly to finish third.
Pleasant also made it two wins from three starts since joining the Phil Sweeney stable with a four-length victory in the Morris Wines Benchmark 66 Handicap (1000m).
Promising apprentice Tyler Schiller brought up his 11th career win in the process.
