A Wagga school is warning parents of the flu risks after a case of influenza A was confirmed

On its Facebook page, Wagga High school warned parents to be on the alert and asked that they seek medical advice if there were any concerns and report to the school any confirmed diagnosis.
Parents were advised to keep an eye out for symptoms including:
- fever and chills
- headache and muscle aches
- feeling tired and weak
- sneezing and stuffy or runny nose
- sore throat and cough
Children may also have abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.
In the week ending June 23, there were 159 new confirmed influenza cases reported in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District, up from 142 in the previous seven days.
Across NSW, there were 4617 new flu cases reported, according to the weekly NSW Influenza Surveillance Report.
According to the report, from NSW Health, lnfluenza activity remains high across NSW, but activity appears to have stabilised in somecregions, although it is too early to tell if influenza activity has peaked.
