Ellis made the 18-hour round trip to Moree twice for their long weekend carnival and it paid off as Fantastic Daisy took out one of the features.
Fantastic Daisy picked up a $2000 first prize cheque when she scored a nine length victory in IPR Contracting NG Series Final (551m).
She will be out to back that up when she jumps from box one in the Graeme Hull Smash Repairs Stakes (525m) at Wagga.
"She's just starting to hit her straps," Ellis said.
"She can be a hard bitch to train. She's not the toughest dog and gets a bit timid around other dogs. She's probably the fastest dog I've ever trained."
Ellis believes Fantastic Daisy will have her work cut out for her against Cowra visitor Double Up Dee on Thursday night.
"Box one will suit her but Paul Braddon's dog (Double Up Dee) is very well-graded," he said.
"She's won 16 races, where as we have won four so she'll obviously be the dog to beat."
Ellis believes his best chance of success comes in the opening race at Wagga with Benny Kneeband, who ran second in a consolation final at Moree last start.
Benny Kneeband has drawn box three in the Interior Constructions Maiden (320m).
"He drew four in the consolation final and didn't get much luck and ran home well for second," Ellis said.
"He does use a lot of the track so the draw doesn't suit him but I don't think there is much speed drawn around him so I think he should be alright."
The first at Wagga is at 5.38pm.
