Care and Support for those in need
A core work of the St Vincent de Paul Society is the assistance provided to local families and individuals experiencing difficulty and hardship.
Members and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that those who need assistance are offered a hand up, whether through material assistance or a listening ear.
Micah Hub in Wagga offers a place for people to turn to when going through difficult times; the Hub has an immediate need for more volunteers to assist the people who are turning to the Society for help.

A hand up for Refugees
The St Vincent de Paul Society offers two programs in Wagga for young refugee people, these programs aim at improving not only an individual's literacy but their self-esteem, confidence and in turn their social skills.
A good education is a key to breaking the cycle of disadvantage and poverty experienced by many refugee families.
Many parents in refugee families value education highly, but, due to their own broken schooling and lack of English literacy they are not able to assist with their children's homework.
Volunteers play an important role in ensuring that the programs offer a safe environment where young refugee children and mothers can flourish.
Volunteer opportunities are available for the Connect and Play Playgroup Program and Refugee Homework Programs; no experience is necessary to volunteer in either programs.
