Charles Sturt University student equity and diversity Officer, Carissa Perkins, said it's an important celebration.
"It's a fabulous opportunity to show regional areas that there is support for the LGBTQIA+ community," she said.
Ms Perkins said the university got on board to highlight the University’s its environment.
"A lot of people in CSU’s footprint might be questioning their sex, sexuality or gender identity and not feel like there is much support to rally around them," she said.
"We want them to know that however they identify and wherever they are on their journey is OK, and we are here for them.
"We welcome and support those from all backgrounds and value the diversity each individual brings to our community."
Ms Perkins said their float is all about being inclusive.
"And what better way to celebrate diversity than a CSU float paraded down Baylis Street in Wagga, featuring plenty of fun, colour and glitter," she said.
