The ladder leaders proved too strong for Storm, taking a 10-6 victory, but had to overcome a sluggish first half at Jubilee on Monday.
Despite scoring the first two touchdowns, Tigers only took a 3-2 lead into the break after Bronte Prestage scored late in the first half.
A quick double a Damon Hurst followed by Brocke Argus diving over quickly had their advantage out to 6-2 and it proved too much for the Storm to chase down.
The purple side did respond and cut the margin back to two after Lachie Harper and Pheobe Duncombe scored only for Tigers to hit back through second touchdowns to both Sophie Quirk and Argus.
Once more Storm hit back when Molly Antone and Harper crossed but Tigers weren't to be denied with Argus and Samara Clarke scoring to make it three wins from the first four rounds.
Argus led the way on the field and was pleased with how it all came together.
"Everyone got here a little bit late so we didn't really warm up so there were a couple of times where we could have capitalised and we dropped the ball or we were in the right positions and execution just wasn't there," Argus said. "As it showed in the second half when we got out balls skills on and everyone knew what they were doing it was a lot better."
In the earlier game, the Dragons overcame a Andrew Baggio masterclass for a 12-10 win.
Baggio crossed five times and provided Sharks teammates Merrae Argus and Ella McFarlane with lovely balls for early tries, but it wasn't enough to maintain second position on the ladder.
Instead it was an intercept try to Kassidy Argus that changed the games.
The two sides went try for try for most of the game before Argus went the length, thwarting another strong attacking opportunity from the Sharks to put up his team up 10-7.
Baggio hit back to close the margin back to two before Jordan Little crossed for his second to extend the Dragons' buffer once more.
Dylan McLachlan then crossed for the Sharks only for Sam Bailey's second touchdown extending the red side's margin to three again late in the game before Baggio crossed for the last try.
After two one-point losses to start the season Kassidy Argus believes the addition of Little and Bailey have been a real boost to their chances.
"We were a bit short of numbers at the start of the year but have added Sam and Jordan Little which has made a massive difference," he said.
"It has given us some more players in attack and more of a spell on the sideline when we need a rest."
