The Bulldogs bowled out St Michaels for 140 last week but could only make 69 in reply.
Todd Henderson said it was disappointing they couldn’t back up a strong bowling performance.
“The first half of Saturday was really good, and I think it was one of our betting bowling performances for the last few years,” Henderson said.
“Starting with a wicket on the first ball of the day helps and while they would build a partnership here or there but then we would break that and get another couple.
“The bowling was ideal but with the bat, which has been our problem for the last few years, we just lost too many wickets too regularly.”
Now they are looking to salvage something from the season taking on Lake Albert at Wagga Cricket Ground.
Some young talent might just be that after Sam Stening made his debut last alongside under 16s teammate Charlie Munn.
