MTC began interviews for the position this week after receiving strong interest in the position from all over the country.
Sanbrook resigned as chief executive last month after seven years in the role.
MTC president Stuart Lamont is happy with the quality of applicants the club has to choose from after applications closed last weekend.
“We have a very strong group of applicants...we began interviews this week,” Lamont said.
Sanbrook will finish at MTC on March 1 and Lamont is confident the successful applicant will be appointed in coming weeks.
The club plans to have the new chief executive started before March 1 to allow for an appropriate handover period.
