The gun pair were among the standout riders at the Sydney Christmas Carnival last week, flying their club flag with great aplomb over the five-day event.
Funnell and Vickers both qualified for the women’s B-grade wheel race final on Friday after a strong start at Tempe Velodrome, getting their campaign off to a flyer in the process.
Vickers then went one better on the following day, outpacing Funnell to take gold ahead of her stablemate in another thrilling women’s B-grade wheel race final at Hurstville.
They weren’t the only Wagga cyclists out and about in Sydney with Max Housden headlining a list of men’s competitors.
