Prest was released from hospital on Monday evening but missed her first Boxing Day meeting at Randwick, where she was booked for two rides.
Instead, she’s waiting to head back to the doctor when the swelling subsides.
“The x-rays at the hospital weren’t that clear. They thought there might have been a chip in my shoulder and in my wrist. And there’s an indentation on the ribs, but they don’t know if it’s new or old,” Prest said.
“My whole arm was sore but I couldn’t pinpoint where exactly. And when I move my shoulder or my wrist, there’s a sharp pain.
“I’m not too bad, considering. Just feeling a bit battered and bruised.
“Hopefully there’s no breaks and it’ll be great news. But if not, we’ll I’ll just play it by ear.”
On the bright side, she enjoyed Christmas in Wagga.
“I got to eat something, so that was good,” she said with a laugh.
Prest’s mount, Tribal Myth, clipped the heels of a horse in the WDF Professional Plate Maiden at Murrumbidgee Turf Club on Monday.
She fell heavily, and was also caught by a hoof from a horse behind her, Tycoon Dreaming.
“He just got me, but I was quite lucky it wasn’t worse,” she said.
“I went to push out for a run outside the horse in front. There was a slight gap, but as I went for it, he rolled back in and clipped the horse in front.”
Prest had a close call at Wagga earlier in the month when she almost fell from Find My Tail. And she knows this fall could’ve been much worse.
But at the end of a year when she’s started to make a name for herself after transferring to Sydney, Prest couldn’t help but be disappointed.
“I had rides today at Randwick, Friday in Canberra, Saturday at Randwick, Sunday at Coroway, Monday at Nowra – everywhere,” she said.
“You miss out on some nice rides but I’m still walking and talking and I’m pretty unscathed.”
Prest has had 17 winners and 36 minor placings since the season began at the start of August, including a winning treble at Albury in early December.
