Emergency personnel was called to the property in Marshall Street just before 2am.
Fire and Rescue NSW Turvey Park station officer, Jason McDonnell, said firefighters were on the scene within five minutes and found the properly engulfed in flames.
Their first task was to stop the blaze spreading to neighbouring properties.
“Those properties were under threat when personnel first arrived,” Officer McDonnell said.
Two crews from Turvey Park and one from Wagga spent two hours on the scene, containing the blaze and, once it was out, making sure the scene was safe.
The house was occupied, but the residents were not home at the time of the fire.
Police have now begun an investigation into the cause of the fire.
