Heavy rain and severe thunderstorms in Sydney have caused flight cancellations and delays to and from Wagga Airport.

Qantas flights QF2222 from Wagga to Sydney scheduled for 9.35am and 10.40am were cancelled.
Also cancelled is QF2221 from Sydney to Wagga scheduled for 8am and 9.10am.
A spokesperson for Qantas said the weather has resulted in only one runway being available in Sydney.
“With one of the flights that’s cancelled in Wagga, we'll try to put passengers on another flight,” the spokesperson said.
While Regional Express’ flight disruptions website shows no delays or cancellations, Rex’s corporate communications manager Joanne Patrick said a number of flights have been affected.
“Rex’s regional operations to and from Sydney are being disrupted by this extreme adverse weather event which is in turn causing delays, flight combinations and cancellations,” Ms Patrick said.
“The adverse weather conditions are expected to abate this evening and Rex Operations are doing everything possible to accommodate passengers on alternative services later today and tomorrow.
“There are currently no combinations or cancellations impacting Rex’s Wagga to Sydney services.”
Overnight, Sydney recorded 100 millimetres of rain.
The heavy rainfall in Sydney may continue this afternoon, with a Bureau of Meteorology spokesperson saying the heaviest rainfall is expected to fall this morning until
“It is quite heavy rates [of rainfall] for a single day, but it is not going to hang around like we see with some of the east coast lows and produce the heavy rain totals over multiple days,” the spokesperson said.
