And if the same Supplyzing shows up at Albury on Saturday then it could be a carbon copy performance in the Conway Printing Benchmark 66 Handicap (1500m).

Supplyzing has left Hulm and his connections bewildered at times, but last start at Albury he was clearly dominant, putting his rivals away over the last 200 metres.

Two of his rivals, Short and Twilight Maneuver, filled the placings but were still two and a half lengths in arrears over the same distance as Saturday.

This time, Supplyzing has to carry an extra two and a half kilograms, taking his weight to 59 kilograms, but he will have one other important piece of equipment to keep him on the straight and narrow.

“We put blinkers on him for the first time last start and he was a lot better,” Hulm said.

“I would just like to see him do everything right again. Sometimes you would swear it’s his first start the way he races.

“If he does everything right he isn’t a bad horse.”

Supplyzing was bred by his owners, which includes Hulm and his daughter Donna Scott, who will also have a starter at Albury on Saturday.

Maiden galloper Thunder Tub ran the race of his life to finish second at huge odds the same day as Supplyzing won.

 “He started at $40 and almost won. It was his first start for Donna and finished off really well,” Hulm said of Thunder Tub.

The stablemates will be ridden by Blaike McDougall, who is the partner of Scott’s daughter, Dannielle.

A family double would be a fitting way to remember one of the biggest race days in Australia for the Cox Plate.

Hulm said he only has a few of the 14 horses the stable has between them, but they were all performing with the recent run of Lord Von Costa at Caulfield providing plenty of hope.

Lord Von Costa resumed from a spell with a sixth placing behind Brave Song in the listed Village Stakes (1200m), where he was beaten just 1.45 lengths.

The veteran trainer expects Supplyzing to do everything right and showcase his talent.

“Blaike said after winning on him at Wagga earlier this year, that the horse gave him the worse ride of his life,” Hulm said.

“The horse hasn’t had a lot of starts and can still be wayward, but the blinkers worked last time.

“He will go close if he races like he did last time.”

Albury will also race on Melbourne Cup and Oaks Day for two of the biggest race days outside of its Cup carnival.
