Visitors were treated to dazzling flying displays across Friday and Saturday and got some rare face time with the pilots behind the controls.
RAAF squadron leader Paul Simmons said the airshow drew in a huge 21,000 people over the two days.
“We were just flooded with people, because they never get the chance to get up close and personal with these impressive aircraft,” Mr Simmons said.
“There was always some action going on, they had an amazing set-up, there was never nothing going on, and the people got a great fill of some fantastic aircraft and impressive flying displays.”
While the modern aircraft were as impressive as always, visitors also had a chance to take a look at some World War II era fighter jets and other heritage aircraft.
Mr Simmons said their flight simulator was a particularly big draw card among younger visitors interested in pursuing a career in defence.
“We also brought out a simulator experience looking at a number of different RAAF jobs available and giving the public the opportunity to see what we do inside the aircraft,” he said.
“From the military’s perspective, it was great to mix with the civilian flying community and the broader public to encourage them to think about a career in defence – especially for the younger ones.”
