The Ross Morgan-coached side had few chances to celebrate in a year that produced just two wins and two draws from 22 outings but director of football Brendan Flanagan is confident the side can attract new players to bolster their existing lists and improve their fortunes in 2019.
“It’s a pretty open field and we’re encouraging players to try and test themselves in a quality environment and see what they can do,” Flanagan said.
“We’re definitely stronger in the junior ranks but everyone’s welcome to trial across the three grades.”
The Wanderers’ under 18s and under 20s sides enjoyed far more successful seasons than their senior counterparts, registering 12 wins between them, and Flanagan tipped a few younger players to push for a berth in the opens next year.
“It’s all performance based here and if your ability warrants being selected in the senior side, then that’s where you’ll end up.”
The two-part trial will commence on October 28 at Gissing Oval with the first session running from 9am to 12pm.
The second trial session will be held on November 4 at Gissing Oval and will run from 9am to 12pm.
