Glenn Elliott-Rudder was sacked after a seven-month investigation accused him of using “excessive force” to stop the violent attack.
Mr Elliott-Rudder was offered his job back on Thursday after the Attorney-General personally intervened to reverse what many believed to be an unfair dismissal.
CCTV footage shot from outside the courthouse showed Mr Elliott-Rudder running to help his colleagues after a “code red” was called.
The footage shows one woman approach another woman on the courthouse steps and start swinging punches.
Mr Elliott-Rudder held out his hand to move the instigator along – an action which was later used to sack him after the seven-month investigation.
After the footage was made public, on onslaught of backlash directed at the NSW Department of Justice and Sheriff Tracey Hall led to Mr Elliott-Rudder being reinstated.
