Ward is a premiership player at the Saints and has returned to take on the top job for the upcoming season.
Ward last played in the Twenty20 competition back in 2013 but will make a playing comeback with the Saints.
An accomplished batsman and wicketkeeper, Ward was named in both Kooringal Colts’ Team of 30 Years in 2015 and 12th man in St Michaels’ Team of the Half Century in 2013.
The Saints have welcomed English all-rounder Beck Forstick, as well as talented teenager Harry Reynolds from Wagga RSL.
They have lost English pair Michael Mitchell and James Evans, as well as Mitchell Black to Parkes.
Ryan Forsyth is expected to captain the Saints again.
St Michaels will get their campaign underway with a Twenty20 match against Wagga City at McPherson Oval on Saturday.
