The comedian is headed for the Civic Theatre next weekend and he’s promising fans it’s his ‘best show yet’.
“I've been coming to Wagga, the place of many crows, for many years,” he said.
“I have brought most of my shows here.”
Mr Barker said one of the tricks he and other comedians use is to take a look at the local paper.
“Sometimes I'll ask the crew backstage what the big news in town is and you get a little insight that you can drop in,” he said.
“People love that, it’s human nature and we love hearing about subjects that we are related to and we really perk up.”
Mr Barker said one of the funniest moments to come out of his career is when he made up a phone number for the joke in his DVD.
“I found out it was real and they were constantly getting calls from people who had watched it,” he said.
Mr Barker entered the world of comedy after his friend egged him to give it a go.
“I am thankful that I did and I have thanked him,” he said.
“My first show was all over the map, but I got some real laughs and that's what got me hooked.
“It was such a thrill.”
Some of the highlights of Mr Barker’s career include working with Flight of the Conchords and getting on the David Letterman Show.
“Also every time I go to Wagga,” he joked.
“The biggest challenge is coming up with good new material.
“You are always trying to outdo yourself and it can be a struggle to come out with a tight hour.”
Mr Barker said Wagga should come along for the show and they won’t be disappointed.
