At about 2am, crew members were called to a vehicle burning near Sturt and Olympic highways, opposite Silvalite Fuel Shop.
About four hours later, they were notified and attended another car fire on Cameron Street, Ashmont.
Leading firefighter Andrew Holt said it was not yet determined how the two incidents began.
“Wagga Police were called as well, and they were on site,” Mr Holt said.
“The fires took about 30 minutes each be extinguished by crew members – one unit to each site.
“They’re [car fires] becoming a fairly common occurrence,” he said.

Mr Holt said police officers were now investigating the incidents.
Wagga Police Station has been contacted for more details.
The latest incidents come amid a trend of car fires in Wagga in recent months.
Earlier this year, Turvey Park Station Commander Jeff Edwards said figures showed that Wagga had one car fire every three days on average.
