The Wanderers are slated to ditch their traditional black and white striped playing kit and don a special green jersey when they take on State League rivals Prospect United at Gissing Oval next month.
Make-A-Wish Australia seeks to make the wishes of children battling life-threatening medical conditions come true.
Wanderers director Brendan Flanagan said the club had a “close personal connection” to the Make-A-Wish Wagga volunteer branch and said he was hoping to raise as much awareness and funding as possible.
“One of our members has a strong affiliation with Make-A-Wish Australia … and it’s a really good cause,” Flanagan.
There’s plenty of entertainment slated for the August 4 encounter with kids face painting and junior matches scheduled during the half time break.
However, the bottom-placed Wanderers still have two challenges ahead of them.
The side travels to The Crest Athletic Centre this weekend for a date with Bankstown FC before heading home to Wagga to host Balmain FC.
