Griffith and Wagga Waratahs are shaping up for a top-of-the-table clash to determine this year’s minor premiership and a rest in the first week of finals while Tumut and Wagga City will lock horns at Jarrah Sportsground in an unofficial quarter final.
Both sides are sitting on 21 points, two behind fourth-placed Leeton, and the winner is almost certain to face the Dianas in next weekend’s elimination semi final.
The Dianas themselves are no guarantee to win on Saturday with seventh-placed Ag College enjoying a string of recent successes.
However, the Leeton ladies would only miss the finals if they lose to Aggies and Tumut and Wagga City play out a draw.
Meanwhile, CSU Reddies are firmly entrenched in third on 53 points and coach Andy Bedford is hoping to spring into next weekend’s qualifying final with a big win over bottom-placed Albury.
“Ellen McIntyre should be coming back from a knee injury and Brittany Bedford could be right for Saturday as well,” Bedford said.
“We’ll look to work on our structures against Albury and there’s a few little things to polish up before finals.”
