Wagga Police have arrested a 17-year-old male for assaulting a 15-year-old female in Mt Austin on Thursday, July 12.

The arrest was made at around 2pm on Friday. The teenage male has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and intimidation.
Police will enforce strict bail conditions.
The teenage male is set to appear at a local children’s court next week.

Wagga Police are investigating a serious assault in Mt Austin that occurred after 8pm on Thursday, July 12.
“Police are investigating a fairly serious assault involving a 15-year-old female victim.
It is alleged that the victim suffered swelling and bruising to her face.
“That would’ve been terrifying for a 15-year-old girl in that situation. We’re treating it with the utmost gravity – it’s a serious situation,” he said.
Superintendent Bob Noble said police wanted to speak to a 17-year-old male in relation to the incident.
He spoke on Friday morning – about the incident – after a handover of raised funds to Wagga PCYC.
“Young people committing offences is not a good thing – that’s exactly why we’re here to support PCYC.
“It is our proactive arm within the NSW Police Force framework to address these issues,” he said.
