The Sharks have stretched their undefeated streak to 11 games under Tinnock’s leadership and the rookie coach is yet to lose a game in his fledgling career.
More impressive is the manner in which his side have been dominating the competition – Lake Albert have conceded just eight goals so far this season while scoring 33 of their own.
The Sharks produced arguably their most clinical performance to date in a 3-0 win over Cootamundra last weekend and Tinnock, who played a full 90 minutes against the Strikers, is thrilled with the team’s progress this season.
“We came out of the blocks pretty and scored our three goals in the first 35 minutes or so,” Tinnock said.
“It was a pretty good performance.”
Striking early was crucial for the visiting Sharks and Tinnock was impressed with his side’s ability to close out games.
“Getting those first half goals was important but we’re learning to manage the game really well and I think we did that,” Tinnock said.
Lake Albert’s convincing win over the Strikers was all the more important given the absence of two key Sharks.
“We were missing Fred and Henri Gardner up front, so it’s great scoring goals without those guys,” Tinnock said.
“Our reserve grade was low on numbers too so it’s been good to see both teams getting wins off the back of our defensive efforts.”
