A year of late nights and early mornings wasn’t enough for Pat Morley after seeing the end result of his hard work.
The owner of Ken Morley Smash Repairs hopes to see the business continue to grow by purchasing the block next door.
It took just 12 months from purchasing the land on Houtman Street to moving in.
During this time Pat was working until 9pm most nights to keep the business and upgrade on track.
He wasn’t alone in his hard work with workshop foreman Terry Vearing and his sister Jacinta working alongside him.
Terry designed the layout while Jacinta did tonnes of work behind the scenes.
“I have to say a special thanks to Jacinta and Terry for their support,” Pat said.
Support from Clare Morley (Pat’s wife) on the homefront was also a massive factor behind the success of the upgrade.
I wouldn't have been able to do what I've done in the last 12 months without her (Clare Morley, Pat's wife) support.
- Pat Morley, owner
“It’s been a giant effort to get here.”
The couple have two kids, four-year-old Harry and one-year-old Rose.

Most staff at the shop know Pat and Clare’s kids which is a testament to the family feel at the business.
Pat knows all staff by name as he has a good relationship with them.
With more growth on the cards Pat is determined to keep this family feel strong in the business.
He hopes to continue to put spray painting and panel beating apprentices on each year.
Currently the workshop has seven apprentices and is quoting around 50 vehicles a week.
It isn’t just spray painters and panel beaters employed at the workshop, it takes a lot more than that to keep the business running smoothly.
Detailers, receptionists, estimators (for quotes), and a parts manager round off the team.
A huge focus for the team is customer satisfaction.
“We try to make sure customers feel the process is easy and the repairs are of the highest quality,” office manager Jacinta Morley said.
“It can be stressful when you're involved in a car accident. Our aim is to make that process as easy as possible.”
