The 2018 Jaguar I-Pace is estimated to fetch between £55,000 and £70,000 ($106,000 to $135,000) when it goes under the hammer on March 2, 2024 at Ascot Racecourse – a horse racing track frequented by the Royal Family.
While His Majesty currently doesn't own the vehicle, it still carries an important history.
According to Historics Auctioneers, the EV was originally delivered to the then-Prince in 2018, where it was painted in Eiger Grey. However, His Majesty reportedly insisted the vehicle be finished in Loire Blue, his favourite colour at the time.
The I-Pace was returned to Jaguar where it was repainted, becoming the only Loire Blue example in existence.
As is common on most Royal vehicles, Jaguar installed blue lights so the I-Pace could be driven as a part of Royal motorcades, though this feature has since been removed.
Historics Auctioneers claims the Jaguar was previously driven by several Royal family members including Queen Elizabeth II and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
In September 2018, the then-Prince of Wales was recorded exiting the Jaguar I-Pace at Royal Albert Hall. When he was approached by media, he could be heard describing the EV as "silent but deadly".
The Royal Family kept ownership of the vehicle until December 2021 when it was returned to Jaguar with less than 3000 miles (4828km) on the clock.
The registration plates were removed and the vehicle was then sold to a woman through Oxford Jaguar who has owned the car ever since.
According to Historics Auctioneers, the Jaguar I-Pace is in good condition and is still covered by its original manufacturer warranty until October 2024.
The Jaguar I-Pace will hit the market with 35,497 miles (57,126km) on its odometer.
Currently, a brand new 2024 Jaguar I-Pace EV400 R-Dynamic SE costs $147,475 before on-road costs in Australia, while the top-spec I-Pace EV400 R-Dynamic HSE will set you back $164,275 before on-road costs.
In August 2023, Jaguar Land Rover announced it won't be producing the I-Pace after the brand's relaunch in 2025.
