SCOTT MORRISON A SCAPEGOAT
So it is reported that Joe Biden placed an order for 500 million RAT kits and is still waiting on them. Who would have thought that?

I wonder if the people who can't see the forest over there are blaming ScoMo too?

LEADER'S 'REFUSED TO PLAN'
In late December a lot of predictions were made as to the peak infections we should expect in NSW and Australia-wide.
The worst case scenario of 200,000 for Australia was strongly criticised as alarmist.
Yet here we are with over 100,000 cases per day and an open admission that it is a gross underestimate.
It is an underestimate because the PCR testing framework doesn't cope.
The NSW testing capacity clearly did not have the capacity to deal with the predicted 25,000 cases per day and by all appearances still does not.
In the week prior to Christmas emphasis was placed on using RATs as a means of improving safety of social gatherings.

Prior to that stock levels kept at pharmacies, supermarkets and on-line channels were low in line with the then current demand.
No advance warning from government, no forward planning to safeguard supply.
When the PCR testing system collapsed the "brilliant" idea from the government is "rely on RATs". Too bad there aren't any. And NSW didn't plan for, nor had tools to rely on, RATs. All this shows that while governments knew of the 200,000 Australia-wide scenario, they refused to plan for it.

SICK MEN NEED SUPPORT TOO
The Sydney cricket Test and pink day supporting the Jane McGrath Foundation for breast cancer is a wonderful thing.
The donations have helped many women through tough times and will continue to do so for many years, especially with the $80 million dollars 'donated' by the Morrison government.
Why is the same thing not done for all cancers, including men's cancers?
Imagine the uproar and cries of discrimination etc if the $80 million and donations were only for prostate cancer, which I believe is the biggest killer for men.

SCEPTICAL OF MAJOR PARTIES
Recent news received from the Australian Energy Market Operator announcing that a draft plan is now available indicating that the phasing out of coal for producing Australia's electricity could take place very much quicker than before anticipated is extremely pleasing, but I think politics will most likely stand in the way of any real and urgent action taking place.
On the one hand we have Prime Minister Scott Morrison reluctant to make any move on coal because this would upset Barnaby Joyce as leader of the Nationals, and on the other hand we have the present Labor leader Anthony Albanese tying hard not to repeat the problems that took place at the last federal election associated with coal and all of its associated ramifications.
Coal surely must be phased out as quickly as possible, but as politics stands at the present time I cannot see our two major political parties giving strong consideration to the plan announced by the AEMO.
