It will be the second meeting in the space of four days on the track after officials managed to overcome heavy storms in the lead-up to complete Friday's program.
Jones said the lead-up form of Swedish Meatballs, a Darrell Hillier-trained filly, has been strong, including finishing second last start behind David Kennedy's smart Couldn't Recommend at Leeton on New Year's Eve.
She registered both her career victories in late November and Jones is hopeful the speed is on early and rely on Swedish Meatballs' turn of foot to prevail late in the Ultimate Machete @ Tipperary Equine Ladyship Pace (1740m).
"I thought she was my best of the day, she's a consistent little filly," he said.
"I haven't driven her before, but the races I've seen she hits the line pretty strong. It looks like there's a bit of early speed in the race, so we might be able to get over the top of them hopefully.
"She doesn't have much gate speed I don't think. We'll try and slot in somewhere and come with one run late.
She'll be close enough hopefully, her last couple of runs have been pretty good. She's run into a couple of nice horses and hasn't had much luck in her other starts, so she's probably due some."
Jones praised the track's condition or racing on Friday, despite the city being hit with a large amount of rain.
"The track was unreal. Since they put the new surface on it's been great and we certainly can't complain" he said.
