A KOORINGAL home has been significantly damaged following a house fire during the early hours of New Year's Day.

Emergency services responded to reports that a property on Warrawong Street, backing onto Willans Hill, was ablaze just after midnight Saturday morning.
Firefighters said the home was unoccupied at the time of the incident and no one has been reported to have sustained injuries.
While the exterior of the property remains somewhat intact, it will likely require demolishing.
Three Fire and Rescue units from Wagga and Turvey Park attended the scene as well as police and ambulance.

The fire was quickly brought under control with Fire and Rescue finishing up at the scene by about 1:30.
The incident is currently under investigation with the cause of ignition unknown.
Fire and Rescue Zone Commander Stewart Alexander said that it is a timely reminder to dial 000 in the case of an emergency, as a prompt response will enable a better outcome.
