Currently there are 520 people in hospital with COVID in NSW, 55 in intensive care and 17 requiring ventilation.
On Monday 6324 new infections of the virus were reported across the state from more than 97,000 tests, down slightly from Boxing Day's record tally of 6394.
Three COVID-related deaths were also reported on Monday.
Some COVID restrictions will be reintroduced from today, including compulsory QR-code check ins.
Hospitality venues including pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes have moved to 1 person per 2 square metre rules indoors under the re-introduced restrictions, and there are currently no density limits for outdoor settings.
Despite huge lines for COVID testing across the city, testing numbers decreased by more than 12,000 in today's reporting period compared to the day prior.
The MLHD COVID testing clinic on Murray Street will be open from 9am to 4pm Monday and Tuesday, December 27 and 28.
Additionally, the Wagga Showgrounds drive-through clinic will be open today and tomorrow from 10am to 6pm.
The hours at both clinics have been extended following a huge surge in demand for testing.
