Caleb gets his first grade opportunity for the Cats with Blake unavailable to play Wagga RSL at the Cricket Ground.

"Blake's pretty busy this weeekend and can't make cricket but his younger brother is going to be quite the cricketer. He's got just as good a hands," Wagga City captain Josh Thompson said.

Thompson, who debuted at a similar age, believes the younger Walker has the right approach.

"He's a pretty casual dude. He's not a real serious character but I think that's a blessing in disguise. He's really calm, not much fazes him so I don't think he's got the emotion in him to be scared or anything. He's pretty mature," he said.

Thompson believes Walker can offer plenty with the bat, having performed strongly in a recent junior representative game, and said the onus is on their batting this week with Ben Turner out as well as Blake Walker. Aaron Maxwell's return also helps.

"We've definitely got to bat strong to get the job done," Thompson said, after they lost their last eight for 38 and leaned on their bowling to beat RSL in round one.
