The students at Mater Dei Catholic College have jumped on board community efforts to help give to those who would otherwise go without this Christmas.

Students from year seven through to year 12, as well as teachers and parents, have been accumulating festive foods which will be donated to the annual St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal.
Year 11 student Oscar Mitter said donating to those in need is just an 'all-around good thing to do'.
"It is a whole community thing, but I think we are very lucky, and very grateful that we are in a very good position to be giving back to the "community," he said.
"We're trying to help people see what they can give and how giving can be life-changing.
"And, we can educate the entire community as well as help those people, so it's just an all-around good thing to do."
Fellow year 11 student Sarah Connellan said through participating students are provided with an understanding of various different things, including that there are people out there struggling.

"Some people take it for granted and don't think of those who are less fortunate," she said.
"It's sad to know there are people out there who are struggling."
