Riverina Police District officers have arrested 22 people during an operation targeting shoplifting across Wagga this week.

Officers attached to the Riverina Proactive Crime Team, alongside Loss Prevention Officers, conducted Operation Stoptake on Wednesday and Thursday, targeting stealing offences from two supermarkets in Wagga Wagga.
During the two-day operation, 22 people were arrested for steal from retail store offences, with 13 charges laid and six criminal infringements issued.
Two juvenile females were charged with stealing, resist arrest, hinder and assault police, as well as breaching the Public Health Order after allegedly spitting on three police officers during their arrest on Thursday.
A 14-year-old girl was refused bail to appear in Wagga Children's Court on Friday while a 15-year-old girl was granted conditional bail to appear in the same court on February 8.
Police also arrested a 35-year-old man outside a supermarket in Glenfield Park, after he was allegedly found in possession of methylamphetamine.
The man was charged with stealing, trespass, and drug supply and was refused bail to appear in Wagga Local Court on Friday.
