Police are appealing to the public for information after a stolen car was found ablaze in Griffith.

Police identified a Volkswagen Amarok speeding down Lakes Road on Wednesday morning, but lost track after turning to pursue the car. Checks showed the car was stolen from a property on Harward Road.
The checks also revealed that along with the car, two guns were also stolen from the property on Tuesday night.
Police established a scene and, while investigating, discovered the car fully alight on Watson Road about 5.15am on Thursday.

Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters extinguished the blaze, after being informed of a grassfire and instead finding the Amarok.
The guns have not yet been located. Police are urging gun owners to regularly check their weapons, storage and ensure they remain compliant with current legislation.
