McRae and Trevor White combined for group three success with Defiant winning at Bathurst on Wednesday night.
Adding to his consistent run, the three-year-old was able to use the sprint lane to take out the NSW Breeders Challenge Western Region Final.
The Junee combination scored a double at Riverina Paceway on Tuesday, with McRae bringing up just his second treble with more success later in the night.
McRae was thrilled to back it up to win his first group race.
"It was very exciting and certainly my biggest win that's for sure," McRae said.
"Everything fell into our hands as we had the right draw, the right horse and the right run."
Defiant was able to get past Braedos Lad, who held on for second for David Kennedy and Jackson Painting, to set a new best mile rate of 1:54.7.
It added to an impressive run this season, with Defiant yet to finish outside of the top four in any of his 12 starts.
In fact he's only been unplaced in three of his 19 career starts.
"I think he is one of the most underrated horses around here," McRae said.
"Week-in, week-out he never runs a bad race and he gets home in 54 or 55 nearly every week.
"We just needed that bit of luck and I just had a sneaky feeling about him."

Defiant was also able to emulate his mother Shes A Jackson by taking out the regional final.
White has had plenty of success in the race with Shes A Jackson in 2015 while Western Secret claimed victory in 2019.
"He raced through the Breeders Challenge series as a two-year-old and a three-year-old and was a bit unlucky not to make it this year but kept finding that better one like Bar Room Banta," McRae said. "Trev has done a terrific job with him and I think he will probably be better again I think."
After also racing at Goulburn on Monday, McRae will sit out Friday's meeting at Riverina Paceway.
Wagga will race for the second time this week with another eight-race card.
The first is for the two-year-olds at 1.04pm.
