On Wednesday afternoon, the Bureau of Meteorology said severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging wind gusts and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours.
Locations in the region which may be affected include Griffith, Narrandera, Ivanhoe, Lockhart, Hillston and Darlington Point.
Narrandera recorded 46mm in just three hours to 12:36pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should move cars undercover or away from trees, secure or put away loose items around the house, yard and balcony and keep at least eight metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
