The Canberra three-year-old justified his short price by producing the win of the day at Murrumbidgee Turf Club (MTC) on Monday.
Super Helpful ($1.90) put paid to his rivals with a six-length demolition in the Iron Jack Maiden Plate (1200m) on the Wagga Riveriside circuit.
Having just his third race start, Super Helpful was treated to a top Mathew Cahill ride and let down strongly in the straight to gap his rivals by six and a quarter lengths.
Co-trainer Matt Jones said the stable were not surprised by the performance.
"He's a nice horse. We've always had a big opinion of him," Jones said.
"He's always shown us plenty. He's related to a horse called Neighbourhood that runs around in Melbourne. That's why we got him.
"We got him for $20,000 and his brother has won four in Melbourne on a Saturday, and here he was going around by Super One, which no one liked at the time, we had One Ay at home, who is by Super One, and we loved him, so we got this one.
"We've also got his full sister, who is for sale at the moment, for $8000."
The Barbara Joseph, Paul and Matt Jones stable have been regulars at the Wagga Gold Cup carnivals for decades. And they have enjoyed a mountain of success through those years.

Jones said Super Helpful will eventually be put away with the MTC Guineas (1600m) in mind.
"He's out of a Savabeel mare so he'll get further. We're just trying to teach him manners to settle," he said.
"We'll aim for the Wagga Guineas with him. What we'll do now is we'll teach him how to race, go to Mudgee and win up there hopefully and send him out and bring him back in for Wagga."
Super Helpful ran third on debut at Sapphire Coast and then was fourth in a strong maiden on Snake Gully Cup day at Gundagai.
"Second up at Gundagai, a heavy 10 turned up, horses were moving around in front of him and he was baulking at them," Jones explained.
"That's why we backed him up, because he pulled up so well and we need to put more runs in his legs because we're going to go to Mudgee on Friday week for a Class One 1400 up there, and a lot of the owners are from up there."
Albury galloper Another Star ($12) ran on into second, a neck in front of Silver Canvas ($26) in third.
Meantime, Goulburn trainer Kurt Goldman and jockey Brodie Loy combined for a winning double.
Important Product ($2.70) finished strongly to win the Southwest Stockfeeds C,G&E Class One Handicap (1050m) before Moon Dancer ($1.70) led all the way to claim the Terminate Pty Ltd Maiden Handicap (1000m).
