Two separate events were held on Saturday at Palm & Pawn and the Thirsty Crow Brewery, running throughout the day with plenty of beer on offer, as well as fun activities like potato sack racing, the strong man challenge, and even a yodelling competition.
Palm & Pawn manager Ossie Sutton was impressed with the turnout on Saturday, particularly after COVID-19 stopped their last two Oktoberfest events from happening.
"It's giving people something to get out and do, and now that we are double vaxxed and all that kind of thing, people are cherishing the weather and just getting out and seeing their friends and family," he said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Thirsty Crow event manager Yolanda Keane said they haven't been able to hold an Oktoberfest event since 2019 either, so were thrilled to be back.
"We've been booked out," she said.
"It's so wonderful to see the venue full of people and everyone having fun."
