The Independent Commission Against Corruption [ICAC] is in its ninth day of hearings into allegations against former NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian involving millions of dollars in grants to Wagga institutions.
Mr Maguire was sworn in this morning, making his first appearance at the current round of hearings and also his first public statement since the ICAC investigation into his conduct led to Gladys Berejiklian resigning as NSW premier.
On Wednesday, Department of Regional NSW secretary Gary Barnes told ICAC that staff were asked to move "quickly" to allow a $20.5 million announcement for Wagga's 2018 byelection campaign.
Ms Berejiklian has denied any wrongdoing, saying that she acted with integrity at all times, and is due to appear on Friday this week and Monday next week.
