The Temora trainer took out the first two races on the bumper 11-strong card, with the only two greyhounds he brought it to track.

First it was Nangar Teddy who relished the longer trip as he brought up his first win at start four.

Kennelmate Little Jeaney wasn't going to be left in the shadows and made it a double as she won on debut.

After being sent to McKinnon off an unplaced effort at Grafton, Nangar Teddy had finished third in his first two starts at Temora.

However McKinnon believes stepping out to the 400 metres suited.

Especially as Nangar Teddy fired late to run down Dana Ginger ($10) to take out the Welcome Bowyer Air New Sponsor Maiden (400m) by almost a length.

"He's been knocking on the door and finishing off good," McKinnon said.

"A bit of extra distance was the key."

Not even some trouble at the start in the small field could deny the $1.80 favourite in a small field.

"He got turned sideways at the start but managed to sit up around the outside," McKinnon said.

"I thought that was what he would do - be too strong for them."

His first two runs for the kennel were over the sprint trip, McKinnon believes he'll continue to improve over the longer distances.

"We know that his best distance will be the 500 but we've got to step him up slowly," he said. "He will step up to the 500 and should be very consistent."

Meanwhile Little Jeaney was able to push through from box one to lead all-the-way in the Tuovi Family Appreciation Maiden (320m).

Taking advantage of the good draw, Little Jeaney ($3 fav) was able to hold off the much bigger Phoenix Izmir ($3.10).

The well named bitch weighed in at 24 kilograms, giving away over third of her body weight to her nearest rival.

Meanwhile Ben Talbot was the only other trainer to score a double on Friday.

First the Wagga trainer struck success with newcomer Chief Sundance.

Coming off a fourth on debut for Talbot, Chief Sundance was able to lead all-the-way before Karen's Word brought up her fifth win since joining Talbot's kennel in May.
