COMPUTER HACKING ON THE RISE
I write this because we hear that now there is a great increase in hacking of our computers and many people are being robbed. I myself have been hacked three times that I know of and fortunately have not lost a large amount.

In one case the bank repaid the loss as the withdrawal of money had no connection with me or my card.
We are repeatedly told how we must take various actions which often don't mean much to us who are not sufficiently knowledgeable to achieve a result. Many of the safeguards proposed don't work anyway.
Now almost all our financial systems are set up by banks and the multinational companies so ordinary people have no alternative but to use them.
Therefore, it is their responsibility to make them safe from being hacked and we robbed of our money.
Of course, the providers are not likely to do much to make the system better so it is the Australian government that must make the system completely safe.
I would suggest that the first Australian government should pay complete compensation to everyone who has been robbed, then it should find a way of retrieving the amount stolen.
With the banks and other financial institutions, they should be able to trace it. We are told that most goes to experts in known countries who have the backing of their governments.
Then our government could, if unable to trace the individuals, hold the amount as a debt against that country.
As I have pointed out already, the loss to the hackers should be against the Australian government not individuals.

HEAVY HEART AT LOST FREEDOMS
I write this with a heavy heart. When I hear the words "Freedom Day" I cringe.
When exploring the meaning of freedom this is a summary: "Freedom, generally, is having the ability to act or change without constraint. A person has the freedom to do things that will not, in theory or in practice, be prevented by other forces."
In looking around on Monday, October 11 I saw people wearing masks, people not being allowed to enter businesses because of their medical choices and businesses having to close their doors because this is how it is in the city.
I really can't see this as true freedom. We are unable travel within our own beautiful country to other states.
I truly believe that it's time to reflect people and have a look at what is really happening around you - families torn apart, the elderly being isolated, people losing their jobs, long-time friendships broken, discrimination based on forced medical choices that some people are brave enough to resist. What has happened to our beautiful country and fantastic way of life?
The second line of our national anthem says "For we are young and free". Hmm, can we ever recover?
