Another One will contest the $50,000 Benchmark 72 Handicap (1250m) at Randwick on Wednesday as he looks to bounce back from his first-up defeat.

Colvin has held conversations with a couple of slot holders to date but has been unsuccessful in negotiating a deal to see Another Run run in the $1.3 million The Kosciuszko (1200m) at Randwick on October 16.

Another One has drifted out to $21 with TAB for the feature.

Colvin hopes his phone might be ringing come the trip home on Wednesday night.

"Yeah he's still there. If he's picked up, he's picked up. If he's not, I'll go down another avenue," Colvin said.

"It all depends on what he does (on Wednesday). If he goes out and wins it, they would have to be looking at him, wouldn't they?

"I think there will be a few looking (on Wednesday) to see how he's going."

Another One ran third in the Ian Reid Sprint at Wagga first-up and has since trialled at Wagga when second behind Blitzar last Saturday week.

Colvin thinks Another One, who finished second in this year's Country Championship, is ready to perform.

"He's ready to do something," he said.

"That's if he's up to that standard. There's a couple of nice horses in it. A couple of good up and coming horses but I think he is too so we'll give him a crack at it.

"I was rapt with the trial. I didn't want to do too much. (Blitzar) went out and went hard so we just poked him around and have him ready to have a real crack (on Wednesday)."

Apprentice jockey Brock Ryan takes the ride on Wednesday. His two kilogram claim drops Another One to 58kg for the assignment.

The four-year-old has come up with barrier eight in the field of 10 however.

"I'm used to coming up here and getting wide draws. I get bad draws every time I come here so I just take it my stride," Colvin said.

"I think we'll be a bit positive with him. If we could be midfield, that would be nice, if Brock can find a nice spot.

"On the Kensington track, it can suit on pace runners so he wouldn't want to get too far back.

"I'm happy with him though, I think he'll run well."
