We are very happy to be back in the theatre and open to the public.
Seeing our customers at the box office this week has been a breath of fresh air.
And while the events on our stage may take some time to resume, with most of our state still in lockdown, we are ready and waiting.
I recently saw a marketing campaign with the tagline "When waiting becomes a joy".
This really resonated with me.
Waiting is often associated with negative feelings; waiting in a queue, waiting for the green light, waiting to be out of lockdown.
But there is a tipping point when there can be real joy in waiting.
We ... look ahead at the amazing calendar of events planned on our stage ...
At the theatre, our mood has shifted.
We are waiting for shows to resume and our industry as a whole to recover ... but that waiting is now more joyful.
Like the anticipation of planning a holiday or Christmas Eve.
We can see the light at the end of the tunnel and look ahead at the amazing calendar of events planned on our stage with a real sense of anticipation.
The thought of a night at the theatre with friends is within our grasp and that is cause for jubilation.
I've got tickets to see shows later this year and next year, I've booked in my next getaway and I'm waiting for the dates to arrive.
This time the waiting is exciting, not melancholy.
Join me in joyful waiting.
Mark Vincent, Human Nature, Jon Stevens, John Williamson, Ian Moss and Troy Cassar-Daley are just some of the names already on sale.
