Most sports clubs were left scratching their heads when the state government confirmed up to 500 people can attend seated and ticketed outdoor events, but the regulation didn't apply to community sport.
Racecourses and stadiums are allowed to open under social distancing regulations, up to 5000 people, but local sports organisations have been forced to pull the pin on their seasons this week.
"You've just got to follow the money trail, they open the races up and they're getting their tax back for it," he said.
"In two years we've hardly had a case in the Riverina. We've done all the heavy lifting and everything they've asked us to do, and they still go ahead and put other things on us.
"We've kept our noses clean and we haven't got any cases in the area.
"Every punch has been thrown at us to do things, and we've done them. We've been resilient and we don't get any reward for it."
IN OTHER NEWS
Hamblin said the club had emerged from two years heavily affected by the pandemic in relatively healthy financial shape.
The Lions were one of the clubs most affected by the cancellation of seasons before finals could be played after they claimed the Riverina League minor premiership on percentage over Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes.
"We had the Murray boys (Sam and Nick) play for nothing, it was a shortened season and the players realised money isn't the reason they play," he said.
"This year, even with a few less games we're still punching above our weight I think. It hasn't been a big financial issue, it's just created a few more jobs for the committee."
The Lions are yet to settle on a date for their presentation night, and will wait to see if restrictions ease before locking one in.
