Originally from Mt Isa, Queensland, the Ladbrooks pride themselves in their bid to make great tasting Australian single malt whisky, distinctive botanical gins, and liqueurs, using locally grown produce.
Mrs Ladbrook said the business was forced into changing the way it operated and was grateful for the support of some Tumbarumba-based businesses which helped enable "things to keep ticking along".
"Our first focus was on getting to local festivals and markets but with lockdown, now that's not an option, so it's been a little bit challenging," she said.
"We're stuck in lockdown in Canberra at the moment but some of the local businesses got in and helped package our products and I had it delivered to Canberra.
"I've nothing else to do so I've been offering free delivery in Canberra."
Brighter times lie head with Mrs Ladbrook having big plans for a tasting room currently under construction.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We bought a house on three acres and it already had a big garage, a shed and a studio so we're turning that area into a tasting room and hope to open it in January," Mrs Ladbrook said.
"It will be a gin academy and we'll have workshops and foraging experiences, not just sitting having a drink - it'll be the whole experience.
"I did a gin and botanicals masterclass and I was gobsmacked with the appetite for people to learn more.
"It's from orchard to putting on the label on the bottle, pulling the fruit from the tree, foraging for the flowers and making your own bottle of gin - local products are really our point of difference with my gins.
"We're not intending to run it as a bar but we'll have food with picnic grazing boxes from local businesses - that's our intention."
The Ladbrooks hatched the idea to produce pamper hampers and gift packs to reciprocate the support shown from local businesses.
"Think Friday night me time with a long hot bath and a gin and tonic in hand," Mrs Ladbrook said.
"The hamper includes a 500ml bottle of signature gin, cumquat cordial by Snowy Foodie and a range of hand-picked goodies from the Forage Merchant and Occasions such as scented candle, linen face cloth, organic loofah and pumice, lavender bath soak and hand rolled soap by Est.
"A Tumba Tipple pack is also on the way featuring Ice Cider from Crafty Cider near Batlow and a few other special additions."
Mrs Ladbrook plans to have 10 small stills in the tasting room to conduct workshops to allow people to learn more about the distilling process.
